High Barrier Multilayer Skin Packaging Film is a transparent co-extruded film developed for vacuum skin packaging of chilled and frozen food. The multilayer structure combines a barrier layer with forming and sealing layers to control oxygen transmission, conform closely to the product and seal to a compatible tray, board or bottom web.
Standard thicknesses are 80, 100, 125 and 150 μm. The film is designed for meat, poultry, seafood, cheese and prepared foods requiring controlled barrier performance, close skin forming and clear product presentation.
Key Features
Multilayer Barrier Structure
The film uses separate functional layers for barrier, forming and sealing. This structure allows the film to provide gas protection while maintaining the flexibility required for vacuum skin forming.
Close Product Conformity
During vacuum forming, the heated film follows the product profile and remains closely positioned around contours, edges and raised surfaces.
Transparent Film
The transparent surface provides direct visibility of the packaged product and supports clear presentation after the skin packaging process.
Defined Thickness Options
80, 100, 125 and 150 μm gauges cover common skin packaging requirements, with additional specifications available for application review.

Applications
Fresh Meat
Suitable for beef, steak, pork and lamb portions requiring close film coverage and controlled oxygen transmission.
Poultry
Used for chicken and poultry portions where skin forming, sealing and product visibility are required.
Seafood
Suitable for fish fillets and seafood portions with uneven profiles or raised product surfaces.
Cheese & Prepared Foods
Applicable to cheese and prepared foods packaged under vacuum where barrier protection and transparent presentation are required.
Multilayer Structure
Barrier Layer
The internal barrier layer is designed to reduce oxygen transmission through the finished film and support controlled package atmosphere.
Forming Layers
Intermediate polymer layers provide the flexibility and elongation needed for the heated film to follow the product profile during vacuum forming.
Sealing Layer
The inner sealing layer provides bonding to a compatible tray, board or bottom web during the packaging cycle.
Forming & Sealing
Vacuum Forming
The film is heated and drawn over the product under vacuum. Its forming layers allow the film to follow the product surface and tray profile.
Edge Forming
Controlled film flexibility supports coverage around product edges, corners and raised areas while maintaining contact with the supporting substrate.
Sealing
The sealing layer is selected according to the compatible tray, board or bottom-web material. Substrate information should be confirmed when specifying the film structure.
Manufacturing Process
Material Preparation
Polymer materials are prepared according to the specified multilayer construction before entering the extrusion process.
Multilayer Extrusion
Functional layers are processed through controlled multiple extrusion to form the barrier, forming and sealing structure in one continuous film.
Slitting & Winding
The finished web is converted to the required width and roll length. Roll identification and winding condition are checked before packing.
Quality Control
Thickness Control
Film gauge is monitored during production against the specified thickness to maintain dimensional consistency across the roll.
Appearance Inspection
Film surfaces are inspected for transparency, contamination, visible defects and surface condition before finished-roll release.
Physical Testing
Selected properties such as tensile strength, elongation and impact performance can be tested according to the applicable product specification.
Finished Roll Inspection
Width, roll length, winding condition, identification and outer packaging are checked before shipment.
Food Contact Compliance
Food Contact Safety
The product range is supported by a Food Contact Safety Licence for Industrial Products Manufacturing.
Product Documentation
Applicable specifications and inspection records can be supplied according to order requirements for incoming material and quality verification.
Customization
Film Thickness
Standard gauges are 80, 100, 125 and 150 μm. Other thicknesses can be reviewed according to product profile and packaging requirements.
Width & Roll Length
Film width and roll length can be specified according to tray dimensions, packaging format and production requirements.
Film Structure
The multilayer construction can be reviewed according to the required balance of barrier, forming and sealing performance.
Packaging & Logistics
Roll Protection
Finished rolls are protected against dust, moisture and handling damage during storage and transportation.
Export Packing
Rolls can be packed in cartons and arranged for palletized shipment according to order requirements and transportation conditions.
